Fergie breaks silence on Andrew’s Royal Lodge controversy

Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York’s residence at the Royal Lodge has always been of much contention.
The royal signed a 75-year-long lease on the 98-acre building in 2003 and moved in with his ex-wife, with the former married couple continuing to live in the unusual arrangement for 20 years.
Now, King Charles wants to put a stop to it, with many efforts as of late to push Andrew and Fergie out of the 30-room mansion and into the nearby Frogmore Cottage, which was formerly occupied by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

Now, Fergie has finally broken her silence, addressing the controversial matter.
In an interview with ¡HOLA! TV, Ferguson was asked directly about whether her ex-husband will be moving out, to which she candidly replied, “Don’t always believe what you read.”
But after being pushed on the matter, she explained she was not privy to the conversations about Prince Andrew and their status at the Royal Lodge.

“I don’t know. I take every day as it comes,” she said of her living arrangements.
The King has tried his hardest to get his brother to move out, from reportedly granting a stay of execution late last year, to more recently delivering an ultimatum.
One source telling The Times, if Andrew “doesn’t agree to move to a property better suited to his needs, then the King may have to reconsider the levels of support he is willing to provide.”

Last year Charles reduced his brother’s £249,000 (approx. $436,000) annual allowance, on which he now depends and is concerned that the disgraced Prince can no longer afford the property’s upkeep.
In 2022, Prince Andrew was stripped of his military titles and royal patronages following US civil action over sexual assault allegations. He was also outed as a close friend of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, after which he has lived a life away from the spotlight.
